An Applicant Sent You a PassHHA Score: What It Means
This page exists to give you context for a link you received with none.

What you were sent
A candidate shared a link with you that looks like passhha.com/verify/ followed by a code. That link shows the result of a timed mock exam the person took on PassHHA. The score was calculated from their answers and was not edited afterward.
It is not a state credential. PassHHA does not issue licenses or certifications, and it does not report to any government body. It is an independent study service, and this link is how the person is showing you that they prepared and how they did on questions at the level of the real exam.
What it is not
Said first, because it is what makes the rest of this page worth trusting. This score is not a license. It is not an entry in a state registry. And it does not replace the competency evaluation you, as the employer, are required to run under 42 CFR 484.80.
That evaluation has to be run by a registered nurse, in consultation with other qualified professionals as appropriate, and it has to directly observe the aide performing certain tasks rather than just asking about them. Documenting that it happened is the agency's responsibility. A score from an online practice exam, no matter who produced it, does not satisfy that requirement.

How this assessment works
Every mock exam draws 75 questions in this fixed distribution:

Questions are drawn from a bank of 798 active items, written in English and Spanish to home health aide scope of practice.
75% or above is reported as Pass Likely. 65% to 74% is Borderline. Below 65% is Need More Practice.
A sample question, at the level used throughout
An HHA notices a red area on a patient's coccyx. What is the FIRST action?
- Apply lotion and massage vigorously
- Report and document the finding to a supervisor
- Ignore it — common in elderly patients
- Apply a bandage
Red skin over a bony prominence is an early-stage pressure injury. Report immediately — do NOT massage, as this worsens tissue damage.

The score is read directly from the exam record and cannot be edited by the candidate. They control only whether this link is active and the name shown.
What this is, and what it is not
This page reports the result of a practice assessment produced by PassHHA, an independent study service. It is not a state certification, not a license, and not a credential issued by any government or accrediting body. It does not satisfy any state or federal HHA training requirement, and it does not certify that this person is competent to perform home health aide duties. PassHHA does not verify identity: the name shown was entered by the account holder. Employers should treat this as one data point alongside their own competency evaluation, training records, and background checks.
The candidate can disable this link at any time.
How to check the link
The link is not public. The candidate shares it directly with you, and it cannot be found by searching their name. It is also revocable: the candidate can turn it off at any point, for any reason, including reasons that have nothing to do with the score itself.
That means if you open a link and it no longer works, that only tells you it was turned off. It is not evidence that anything was wrong with the score, and it is not evidence the candidate was being dishonest.
